Replace Turbo Tranny w/ Non-turbo tranny
Greetings
I'm looking at doing a tranny swap in an 86 pickup.
The truck has a 22RTE with an automatic. Even though the truck drives pretty good with it, I dislike auto's. I've look at the price of R151F tranny's, and that's a "hair" more than I'd like to spend. But I know I can get a W56+t-case locally for pretty cheap.
Would this be a problem? I know the gearing is different in the R151F vs the W56 (most notibly the 4.31:1 1st gear). I checked Marlin Crawler, but couldn't find anything about the length of the 2.
