removing bed

Has anyone done a write up on removing the bed on one of our trucks?

Is it pretty simple?

unscrew gas tank filler neck from bed. These screws will be tight. Remove all your wires from the tail lights and license plate light. un-bolt the 6 bolts holding the bed down. done. You can remove the plastic inner fender wells first if you want to.

If the bolts are not rusty, should be rather easy.... I had to cut every single bolt on my truck.

FYI, there are 8 mounting bolts on the bed. Unbolt ( use penetrent lube to loosen them up before hand) these bolts, the gas filler neck and pull the taillight/licence plate wiring out.

2 guys can easily pick the bed up and pull it off..

I would recommend taking the tailgate off prior to moving it as one piece...makes it a bit better to remove. I removed mine with a buddy and it wasn't too bad. The bolts on mine felt like they were stripped, but in reality they spin until an arm hits a solid piece and then they loosen up. Hit em with PB blaster for a couple days prior to removal and it should help.

Sorry, you are correct. My bed is bobbed 14" and I eliminated one set of mount points.
