Removing the 80 amp main fuse
GOOD NEWS!!! After much farting around with my 87 4runner, I finally got the 80 amp main fuse out. What a bite in the wazoo! It turns out that to get to the little bolts holding it in, you have to disengage the clips that hold it in and it pushes out the bottom! I finally figured this out in 20 degrees with the wind blowing after I unbolted the whole thing from the fender and then broke off substantial pieces around it from the fuse box. Luckily, Napa had a 80 amp main fuse in stock for a few bucks, and all is back together,(minus the broken little chunks), and the damn thing runs again with all accessories and lights! YAY!

You know whats funny? When your alternator fuse pops out and leaves you stranded like two blocks from work and you make it to work right on time (very strict points system - very lame). Then your just close enough to the road they tow you before your first break until luckily your dad pulls up right as they're putting your rig on the truck and then they tow you to work instead. $185 to tow you two blocks.
That's my story involving fuses...
