reman 3.awesome

haha maybe more people with look with that title. basically im getting a reman 3vze for my runner and i am also tossing around the idea of swapping to a 22re, i dont really wanna hear opinions on which engine is better (no offense guys, we all know which you all like best) but what all is involved in a 3vze to 22re swap? (tried the search didnt find much) or maybe a 3.4. just looking for easy/cheapest. do i have to pull the tranny with the engine or can i pull the engine and leave the tranny in? thanks

when i swapped my 3.4 into my 92 3.0 truck i left the tranny in it. i believe if you go 4 banger route you need to move the tranny forward or back, not sure. And of course you do that you gotta mod drivelines. i got my 3.4 swap done for about 2100 and thats me doing all the work including exaust and wiring.

a 3.4L swap would be easier than a 22re swap. like Vital said, the tranny location but also the tranny itself is different, bolt pattern, engine mounts, ECU, wiring, all that jazz. The 3.4L uses the same mounts, a lot of the same wiring, can be used with the same tranny...etc...theres a section devoted to 3.4L swaps. Good luck...

But why swap in a 3.4L if you just put in a remanned 3.0L? Wait until the 3.0L blows, if it ever does.
