regear?

I'm looking at getting a SS 7.1 lift by the end of the summer and along with that, some new meat. Specifically Maxxis Bighorns in 255 85-16 (i like the tall skinny look). Since this will still be my dd, I'd like to keep a second set of wheels with stock (265 70-16) or smaller tires. Currently I'm ruunin' stock 4.30s with 265 75-16.

When I go wheelin' (about twice a month), it almost always requires highway travel. daily driving speeds are usually 40-45mph, except for a 2 mile stretch at 65.

My question: Should I regear, and if so, to what?

sorry, posted this to the wrong forum. Can someone move this for me. thanks.

i wish i could help more but i've never had a 5vze. i'd say that 4.88's would be more than enough. maybe even 4.56's. can someone back up/correct that?

Seems to me you'd be ok with 4.30 gears based on my experience with 4.10 and my 3.4 auto with 265/75R16 stock Scorpions and 285/75R16 Truxus MT Swampers.

So let me get this straight: Are you getting a lift and getting smaller than stock tires??

yes.

I'd like to get the lift and an extra set of wheels. That way I can switch out from smaller tires for daily driving to 33s for wheelin'. My thinking to this is that I'll use less gas while driving around town.
