Rebuilt motor warranty Question????Please give advise
Ok I got a rebuilt motor put in my 3.0L V6 about 8 months ago it came with a 1 year warranty. and now 8 months in the head gasket has blow only 6000 miles later. My question is should I have to pay anything out of pocket to have this fixed since it was still under warranty and was not my fault I had all scheaduled maintenance done. Now the machanic is saying I will have to help pay for the labor and part to the tune of 500 dollars. Is this normal??????

If you've got the warranty in writing, the terms should be stated there. If they refuse to honor it, threatening court may help. If the warrany is valid and they refuse to honor it and you go to court you may even be able to recoup the cost of a rental vehicle while yours is incapacitated.
If it was a verbal agreement that's harder to prove, but not impossible to win in court.
You may also want to contact the Better Business Bureau and the California Bureau of Automotive Repairs.
