Yeah where Jays link says "this is where it gets tricky" they aren't kidding. Getting that clutch, tensioner spring and follower pawl together right is a real PITA. That spring just doesn't want to stay put.

yeah man ^ The hardest part was getting the spring into the gear and attached to the other spring... and grease just makes it worse!

Back to helping

Now where you able to get the outer bigger gear out? It should slide out without a problem, but in any case, it needs to come out to get everything working.

Awsume!

Okay, no that bottom gear does not have to come out. Thats the gear that will "lock" things in place.

now just clean out as much as that old grease as possible, I used water and a toothbrush with plenty of rags handy.

you will see a groove cut into the gear on the inside, thats what that smaller spring winds into to hold onto it.

Well I wouldnt soak the dial in any cemicles since it has a rubber o-ring in it.

Now you only have 1 spring, you need 2.

I let mine sit for a week in mineral spirits then cleaned them out and off not the dial though I took it apart and removed the O ring before soaking it.

You can get the bolts at any hardwear store, I got mine from a place near my house.. M16x6 bolts im pretty sure.

But as far as I know you can't really buy it online, you MIGHT be able to get one from the dealership but it might be one of those things you need to go to the wreckers for.

That may be a tough one. I'd say try the dealer.

It looks like there is a spring attached to the Big spring on the left of your pic, or is it just the angle

Haha, sounds great!! Now you see how the spring clips into the bigger spring, now you just need to thread the end of the little spring into the gear

yea, but i'll attempt that after I clean everything. Tomorrow i'll track down some snap ring pliers and take the dial apart. BEING EXTRA careful not to loose that ball that eevrybody talks about. THan im gonna scuff em up and paint them.

Good stuff, going with hammered grey?

And that little ball, mine simply slid out due to grease, but I have heard of them "shooting" out.

I dont know about hammered grey. My wheels are hammered grey, and I think I want the hubs to stand out a little. IM gonna leave the dials red, like they are stock. But im not sure about the rest. I MIGHT go with a silver color.
