TO rebuild or not to rebuild.. carb that is

In anyones humble opinion is it worth the time to rebuild an 85 Toyo stock carb?? There seems to be varying opinions in internet land about whether to do it or not. Most say not and to buy a new one.
I rebuilt one on a 74 International pickup and it has been a year with no problems
any input would be great.
thanks

A potential headache with a rebuild, is that problem(s) may still be there after the rebuild. The problem with buying a new one, is too much $$$!

I've had good luck with used carbs. Redding Pick-n-Pull has them for something around $30.

I bought one from that very place for a friend of mine. It was $100.00.
I put it in did a minor tune on it and it never worked worth the @&^$
I sent it back and they were cool about a refund.
Thanks for the info anyway.

When my 86 22R started to stink, gas mileage in the dump, I rebuilt the carb with a kit from NAPA. Paid attention to detail and it turned out great. The inner rubber parts were trash. Truck has been running fine ever since. Seems to me that every thing I've kept Toyota OEM has never given me any grief. My 2 cents, do the rebuild on the OEM. You'll know what you've got. Not someone elses rebuilt problem.
