Rear slider replacement

So when I went out to truck this morning I found that somebody had broken out the passenger side stationary window in the sliding window assembly (not sure what it is called) and stollen my radio, maglite and gone through everything in my truck (good thing I put padlocks on my box or my tools would probably all be gone too). All of that sucks, but what I am more worried about is replacing my rear window. Is this something that I could do by myself if I found a replacement for it, or is it something that I will have to pay somebody to do? Any help would be appreciated.

that sucks man...

I can tell someone has tried to get into my rear window before just by looking at the metal strips where the 2 sliding windows come together, but apparently they were not desperate enough to bust out windows...

but about replacing the window, I honestly don't know. I know some people that I wouldn't trust working on my truck that have replaced their rear window in other trucks, lol, so I wouldn't think it could be too hard, but I dunno...

My fsm says you need to remove the whole window to do that... Cut the old seal and then you pry open the frame of the window and slip the pane out...

Got any friends who do windows?

Yah, I have a friend who runs a body shop out of his garage, the problem is that he is in Washington and I am in California all by my lonesome. The whole window huh. I don't know if I am up for that.

Shouldnt need more than a 20ft piece of 18ga wire to install a new window in the rear. Hell if you were a bit closer to Fresno i'd give you my slider for the cost of a soild. I personally hate the sliders.

I love the function, but they are not the best design. My buddy put a real nice 3 peice slider in my sisters truck for her, now that one is nice!

Thanks for your help guys, but I got it fixed. I went to Pick-n-pull last Sunday and bought the whole slider assembly for $44 and installed it. It only took about 20 minutes to install. It is out of an 85 2wd, and it is a little rough, but it fits and keeps the weather out. Now to start replacing the rest of my stuff that was stolen. They even took my ash tray, instead of just emptying my change. What the h___?
