Rear Shock Replacement Tips

Okay so I've purchased some rear shocks for my 94 4runner. I can get the bottom bolt off on both sides no sweat but the upper mounts I can't even get at properly to use any kind of tool. Basically my question is does anyone have any tips or tricks that make this job easier?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Buy a cheap angle grinder and cut them off from below. A cheaper angle grinder can be had for less than $20 and they actually seem to last. I have had mine for over a year and used it a lot and its still ok- not bad for $20.

I used a ratching, flex-head gear wrench on the top bolt http://www.gearwrench.com/catalog/wrenches/ratcheting/ and a Vise Grip chain wrench http://www.irwin.com/irwin/consumer/...rwinProd100322 around the shock body. By using the leverage provided by the Vise Grip wrench and the ratcheting action of the gear wrench, I got them off in no time.
