rear main seal lekaing

well my rear main seal is leaking on my 3.0L it drips maybe 1 drip a day and iv been running 10w30 with a bottle of lucas and it seems to slow the drips. i was gonna change out the seal this winter but im becoming over whelmed with it
is there any kinda oil or additive that will help the seal out or maybe switch to a 15w40 oil any input would help

If the seal is shot for sure, you might as well try one of those rear main seal repair liquids at the auto parts store.

Probably a stop-leak product. http://www.google.com/search?q=stop-leak+oil+seal

Personal preference of course but i'd rather dump a fresh quart routinely than run any kind of sealer.

From experience try not to use some magical fluid to fix a leak. its a tough job but your engine will that you for doing it. Cheaper than figuring out that magical fluid clogged up other things also. Like your oil pick up in your oil pan.

let the rough end drag man. your truck burns more oil than that a day. check your oil level at every gas fill up, and don't worry about it. when its time for a clutch, then do the seal.
