I'm currently in the process of a SAS and rear leaf swap on my 95 4Runner. I've seen a LOT of different measurements for where to locate the rear spring hanger. For TG springs Elvota recommends 3.25" back from the frame hole while John Gabriel was recommending 1.5" back. (Dave at MC recommends basically 3" back for their 5" springs)

I already have mine partially welded on (TG 5" springs) and weight sitting on it but its hard to see where the tire will move when flexed. I'd like mine to clear the screws on the front trim piece by 1/2" - 1" so any trimming I have to do is at the back.

I'd like to hear what you guys did and also where the tire ended up in the wheel well. Thanks in advance.

The spring hanger can be located by getting you spring length from center pin to eye hole along the arch and measuring that distance forward from where ever you want your axle to be when fully compressed.

Hope that makes sense. Thats what I will be doing here in the next few weeks on mine.

Yeah I get that and I've gotten mine really close. The problem is with how the tire fits under compression. I want to get mine dialed in perfect (within 0.5") and I can't flex it until its all fully welded (which means more cutting time).

Anybody done this that can chime in on their tire fitment and perch location?

Well if you do like I was describing, that will give you the location of the tire under compression. You could mock it up in place. Or take the spring pack apart and just leave the main spring. You should be able to flex it pretty easy with it not fully welded.
