Rear end clunking?

My 87 pickup is doing something new. I know it can't be the rear end because I just put a different rear end in 2 weeks ago.

But basically when I come to a COMPLETE stop, it clunks/jerks on take off. If I ease into the take off it doesn't do it. But it won't do it if I take off from a slow roll. I'm thinking ill change the ujoint out, and see what it does but I want someone else's opinion.

Yea. I'm hoping so. I was stupid not to change it out when I put the rear end in. The rear end going may have caused it, the driveline dropped so it was spinning and banging on the ground. I guess I'll find out.

x2 on the u joints. They can do some damage if they break.

Well I was going replace both u joints tomorrow morning but I just went under there to take a look and din't see signs of worn ujoints. What i did find though kind of scares me and I'm hoping one of you can tell me it's a simple fix. I checked the yoke off the rear end and it seems fine, but the yoke off the t-case has a lot of wobble. As in a can shake it back and forth about an eighth inch, not sure if thats normal but i don't like it. The driveline also has a lot of spin play. I can turn it about half a turn. I really don't want to have too put a new t-case on it, just dropped $600 into the damn truck a little over a week ago. I didn't notice any problems when I had it in 4wd the other day. No off noises or anything. Drove just fine.

well when the nut on the t case holding the flange it causes it to be loose. Take the driveshaft off and see if it is and it might have done some damage to the output shaft if its as loose as you say.
