Rear door will not unlock

Ok so this may be an idiotic question but here goes. On a 92 runner, is the ignition key the same key for the rear door? I cannot open it from the inside or outside!! Also, the rear window will not roll down. All of the fuses are good. Switch maybe?

Yes your ignition key is the same for the rear door. Did you have it open and or apart before all this happened?

No. I've only had the truck a couple of months and it's never opened. I'm not sure what it is. I'll keep playing with it and hopefully figure it out. I searched the forums but didn't see anything specific to my issue.

Make sure the window lock button is not pressed in. Just a thought.

window lock button( both for rear too. I know mine is separate) Make sure all the plugs are intact inside the door panel, maybe test with test light? make sure nothing is jammed up.

The window has to be all the way down for the door to unlock... that being said... when u hit the switch to lower the window, do u hear anything? Click, hum, anything? If not, I'd 1st check the window switch itself... I've gone thru a couple... after a few years of coffee/soda/dirt and grime, the switch will not make contact, and cease to work...

Good luck

theres a relay block in there, all i did was give mine a few love taps, made my rear window work perfect lol

You guys are going to love this. I sprayed a little lube into the key hole and it works perfectly. Got the idea somewhere online but don't remember where. Man what a cheap fix lol.

Right on, my wifes runner was having the same problem the other day, I went to check it and found that she had hit the rear wiper switch and the wiper was torn I guess and it got stuck in the window so it wouldn't move and I guess unless the wiper is parked the window wont roll down either.
