Its called a Load-Sensing Brake Proportioning Valve (LSPV). 8mm x 1.25 anything around an inch in length would work.

not trying to be rude... but if you say 8 x 1.25, you are saying it's an 8mm diameter bolt, 1.25mm in length.
maybe 8 x 40 x 1.25 is what you meant? (8mm diameter, 40mm long, 1.25 thread per mm pitch)

I think he was talking about the thread pitch...

and threw a little standard inch in with his metric mm measurements

I'm quite sure what you said is true. But that's also why I tried to clarify.
Not necessarily to correct Matt16, but to make sure the original poster understood what the numbers meant.

8mm x 1.25 is what the label on the bins a the hardware stores will say. Its just how bolts, nuts, taps, dies are all measured. Should I explain that the 8mm is the shaft diameter not the head diameter as well?

I gave the length in inches as most Americans don't know beans about metric. Precise length doesn't matter as anything between 1/2" and 2" would work fine.

I heard Barrack Obama is going to convert you guys to metric, soon after taking your guns, and painting the Whitehouse purple. I heard it on Fox News.

I've never seen a bin labeled "8x1.25". That means "8 mm diameter, 1.25 mm long". Not at Home Depot, Lowes, Fastenal, Ace, Granger or elsewhere. You CAN get an 8x1.25x1.25, an 8x1.25x1 and 8x1.25x1.5, and many other thread pitches too.

That does not mean it had a bolt which was 8 mm diameter and 1.25 mm thread pitch.

So, like I was trying to clarify to the original poster, you meant an 8 millimeter diameter bolt, with a 1.25 thread-per-millimeter thread pitch, with an approximate length of 1 inch... which is why I suggested 8x40x1.25.

Either learn what you're talking about and how to describe it properly, or learn to work with the people that know what you meant and are trying to help you out.

Hey if Obama changes us over to the metric system it would bring us up to par with the rest of the world. There's a reason no decent scientist uses the imperial system.

The screws I got are M8 x 1.25 x 16 BTW.

All I need to do now is bleed the breaks and jump the battery!

If McCain/ Palin wins, I'll probably be doing the same, and I don't even live in the states.

I have at my local ACE...Home Depot and Lowes suck for any selection of fasteners and are way over priced

edit: Kenny-I agree with you about the Metric System...Jefferson or Adams tried to get us to convert when the country was young....glad you found the bolts you needed for your Brakes...

Who lit the fuse on your tampon? Smarten up now, this is hardly a thread worth insulting people. My mother would figure out what to get if I asked her to pick up a "8mm x 1.25 bolt about an inch long" was. If she didn't, she'd go to the front desk at the autoparts store, give ask for the bolt and even the acne-ridden 13 year old would figure that one out.

wow... I say that I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to get you to be more intelligent about what you recommend to people and some how I end up with the m80 tampon?

I guess next time someone has a problem with ignition timing, charging systems or just wants to get chastised, I'll hand them over to you... I shouldn't try to make sure the spark occurs on the proper cylinder and should just tell them to ask your mother for advice because she'll just figure out the next best person to ask.

Yeah, really intelligent response.

The problem with the internet is that no one can tell whenever anyone is joking. It wasn't my intention to insult anyone. Let's leave it at that. He got his answer. He needs a 8mm shaft diametre bolt with 1.25 threads per millimetre that's between 15 and 40 mm (0.6" - 1.6") long.

Are we all happy?
