Random no start... What worked for you?
I have had a random no start (just a click) every since I have owned my truck (5 years). From time to time I try to track down the issue and thus far I have not found the answer.
Here is what I have already tried.
Replaced clutch peddle sensor
Replaced Battery & Alternator
Replaced + and - wires from battery
Replaced the main 3 ground wires.
Replaced the wire that runs from + term to starter.
Replaced starter contacts
Nothing has really helped although the new optima battery seemed to make it occur less often.
Seems to be no coloration between a start and no start, and if I unplug the positive side of the battery, wait 3 or 4 minutes and plug it back on the truck will jump to life.
I have left the truck parked for 3 months before and it fired up like new and I have shut off the engine for only 30 seconds and it will refuse to start.
So any more ideas?

If you still have the stock starter or a Toyota starter it is more than likely the starter. I had the same problem for years. Just last week I went to the pick and pull to pull one off of an 88 and it starts up perfect every time. The one off of the 88 was a aftermarket non Toyota starter.
I have read that the Toyota starters last quite a while but become troublesome after a few years.
P.S. Order your starter online or find one from the Salvage (make sure they test it first). I never had any luck finding a starter for my truck from the local stores for under $150.

check the connections on your battery first. I had that happen a while ago. Didn't look bad but it was enough to make it not want to start. I also had a ground wire fall off that made it so it wouldn't start. but yah check connections before you spend the money.
