Some systems react poorly to different anti-freeze (Dex-cool eats headgaskets if not designed for Dex-cool).

Best bet is to use what came in the car since it worked just fine (assuming of course, that it did work fine). I think the parts stores have a large variety of these different types, so finding Toyota spec. fluid should not be hard.

New Formula Green Prestone 5 Yr. all Makes/all Models

Hey for what it's worth.

The new Prestone $8.00/gallon at Wal Mart. It will work just fine.
Log on to www.Prestone.com

I believe it will be the same without the red dye. To get that you will need to pay $18 per gallon; your choice.

Compatitable with aluminum head engines, O.A.T., no silicates, extended life,
just missing the Toyota name, price, and "hype."

My 2cents.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

correct me if i'm wrong but i was told that the one size fits all coolant isn't a smart idea and you should use the manufacture specific coolant. seeing as how they designed the engine.

^^X2^^

But personally I think I see more cooling system problems with the red Toyota coolant. It seems to go bad quicker.

So if you use the Toyota stuff, make really sure you change it at least every 2 years.

you'll be able to make a phone call sitting on a chair lift, while you download music and take pix. you'll be able to push a button and have someone in jersey unlock your car, heck you'll talk to the darn thing and ask directions to a restaurant!! lol.

Use whatever color coolant you want. Just don't mix them.

For our shop, we use whatever coolant color came out of the vehicle. If red stuff comes out, we put Toyota red stuff back in. If green stuff comes out, we put green stuff back in.

It's only a $10 price difference, and it's good for two years. Skip a burger this year and next year, and you'll get your money back. The $10 for peace of mind, and not getting brown coolant is definately worth it. It's not worth spending a whole afternoon flushing the residual stuff out just to change the color.

While you're there changing coolant, put a genuine thermostat and rad cap on at the same time, and drive worry free for a couple years.

Now if you had a german car with blue coolant and you put anything other than blue coolant back in, you'd have big expensive corrosion problems.
