R15x Tcase on r154

Hello,

I am in the middle of a project that involves running a 600hp quick response supra setup into a lighter chassis. details here..

http://www.supramania.com/forums/sho...-6-speed-setup

Well after seeing my chassis converted to AWD by full-race

http://www.full-race.com/r14/

They used a full Skyline GTR Front and rear Subframe with the Skyline Engine and trans. I want to do the same thing but use my Supra engine and an R154.

Would i be able to use the r150 or r151f transfercase on the back of the r154? I assume that the output shaft at a minimum would need to be changed. and also did toyota ever make an electronic torque splitting system or are they all manual?

No such things as an r150 and r151 transfercase, those are transmission numbers. Transfer cases are RF1A (r151f) (top or forward shift) and VF1A (r150).

RF1A is gear driven while the VF1A is chain driven. Gear driven being the stronger of the two.
However, I don't see these transfer cases supporting 600+ horsepower on high traction pavement.

How do I say this without sounding rude?

Oh what the heck, here goes nothin'...

I can think of so many reasons why you wouldn't want to do this. And not a single reason why you would honestly.

But if you are interested in putting your Supra engine and transmission in a Pissan. That's sacrilege for one thing. Barring that fact, it would be a much better plan to find a way to adapt the R154 to it's transfer case...or whatever it has. Or to adapt the Supra engine to it's transmission

Bottom line: You DO NOT really want a ½ Ton pickup truck transfer case in a high-performance street/track car. Even if it can be done, it's got bad idea written all over it.

No, they aren't. But they are not built to be used on high traction surfaces.

Explain to me why you want a transfer case with 4 low gearing? That's an aweful lot of dead weight...don't ya think?

I have already done the swap, my car ran fine with the supra motor, (low 11's to be exact) this is just a NEW combination.

What I want to do is use an r154 (which is geared perfectly for the supra engine) and then adapt a transfer case. if this cant work, I might have to use the Skyline transmission and transfer case. I just hoping to use an r154 because I have 6 of them in my storage.
