r150 leak

so i rebuilt my tranny it is like a brand new transmission shifts great, tight, but it leaked out of the input seal so i pulled it back out cleaned bearing cover and tranny face real good and very carefully replaced seal puy back in and a day or so later it went right back to leaking is there some type of trick to this thing?

Not that I'm aware of. I've done it a couple times now without issues. Just do it like the FSM says. Being careful not to damage the seal on the splines of the input shaft while installing. Properly placed bead of FIPG on the bearing cover, and Loctite 242 on the bearing cover bolts torqued to 12 ft-lbs. Pretty straight forward.

I'd check the breather. Maybe it's clogged and there's some pressure building up in there forcing oil past the seal. If so, it may have caused a leak at the output shaft seal too. Which would be a nightmare to clean out, so I'd just leave it in there for now and not worry about it.

man i didnt even think about that. thats prob it since its done it twice with brand new seals i did it the way you jus described it should be right. i dont know how i missed that i just done my pinion seal and cleaned the breather back there guess i just had brain fart on this. thanks alot.
