Question(s) of conversions?

well first off, this my first post here. I have a 92 p/u 2wd auto 22re, really a clean truck for its age. Ive been experimenting the modding world for the truck. First i lowered the rear bout 3.5 inches and the front 3 inches, but it was too much of a ☺☺☺☺ty ride for me...then i thought about off-road thing. After a little search, i found a '88 p/u 5spd 4x4, rolling chasis without engine & harness for a good price, and its only like 10 miles away...so my questions are. 1) would it be smart to swap everything from 4wd truck to my 2wd truck? (i havent seen this vehicle yet) Ive heard its a pita to do. 2) Can i swap my motor and body parts to the '88 chasis?.....I know this subject has probably came up but i couldnt find any threads that could get my answers. Any info would be kewl...thanks guys!

well, depends on what ur doing and what u can do. if u want to get involved with offroad stuff, ur probally going to want the 4wd capabilities, and it would be much easier to just swap the engine and stuff into the 88 4wd. turning a 2wd into a 4wd is tough, ive been studying that for my truck, and im almost certain im going to end up just savin my money and hopin someone puts their 4wd runner or pu for sale for cheap around me in my area. lol.

its gonna see alot off-roading, but its fair share daily driving, and the money factor is gonna like "spend as I go"...i wanna have fun with it during the weekends.

you should swap the stuff from your 2wd to the 88. for just starting off roading ifs will be just fine. you dont need a sfa and 85s are hard to find. just get the 88, get it running, put some good tires on it and go from there. if you find that you like it you can go for more like lift, lockers, armor ect.

88 is a different body style than 92 so no. im sure you could make them work but they are a bit different.
