Question & HELP! Ive searched already!!

Okay truck starts when it wants too? Its got a complete tune-up and replaced AMF. I put in two different new batteries, and yet the battery light is on along with the check engine light? Truck doesnt crank only when it wants it wants too? IM thinking its the battery cables are worn and need to be replaced? Could it be anything else? It has a new alternator, checked it when it was running, and starter. IM doing research as I write to figure out and learn how to perform the code function.

sounds like you may have a short somewhere check your connections for corrosion or looseness (is that a word?)

Make sure your alternator is chaging I had the same issue and it turned out to be the alt brushes

He stated earlier that it was a new alternator but that still doesn't eliminate it from the equation. Try disconnecting your negative cable when the truck is running...if it dies then your alternator is to blame. ALso check the alt fuse...or it might be called charge I'm not sure

WOW! thank-you all. I just got out of work and read the great info. I was like this close to selling it as is! Only Because this truck is my secound 4x4. I was telling this guy at Autozone about my truck, had it for a YEAR! And I am still working on the quirks here and there, its a 3.0. The owner sold to me as is and gave up on the truck, in my older brother who is in IRAQ. He got paid by the owner to put in the head gasket, alternator, starter. My older brother emailed back from IRAQ and told me to sell it! Im like no I cant Brother its a TOYOTA! ya digg??
