Question about '91 4Runner front diff housing
I recently had a rear diff failure, and decided to re-gear my rig ( 35" tires, switching to 5.29s). Previous owner had two different ratios installed in the diffs, couldn't run in 4WD.
Being new to this, and listening to a friend that has more experience with these matters I bought a pair of 8" ring, pinion, bearing sets.
Had one set installed in the rear diff, and have found that my front housing ( IFS) is 7.5".
Now I'm assuming it would be easier to find an 8" housing and carrier for the front than try to trade/sell/buy a set of 7.5" 5.29's...
Am I right aboout this? How much of a headache do I have in front of me..... I can't tell through the ignorant bliss....

the 8" carrier will not fit in the front. exchange the 8" set for a 7.5" and have that installed.
your other option is extremely pricey if you must keep the 8 in ring and pinion. here it is
