93 truck. Got my radiator, shroud and engine mounted accessories off. Got my Motor mounts unbolted. Now my question is, What to do with my AC Compressor? It looks like four horizontal bolts are all that hold it to the bracket. I don't want to discharge the refrigerant, so I want to leave it in the engine bay. Is there a good way to wire it up, hold it, so it doesn't strain the refrigerant lines? Or is that even necessary?

After working on it for a few minutes I figured out that the compressor could stay bolted to the bracket. It is the bracket that I needed to unbolt from the cylinder block. It amounted to five bolts. Two on the bottom of the bracket below the compressor, one on the top rear near the back of the compressor, and and two on the part of the bracket that bolts to the front face of the engine block. The bolt at the upper back of the bracket also holds on the battery ground cable. I had to use a very long extension with a ratchet and a 14 mm socket to reach it. You can't actually get your hand in there so I can tell it's going to be fun to put back together.

Next up, marking and recording wiring connections and vacuum hoses.

Just leave the compressor hanging down low. It doesn't need to be rotated up and off to the passenger side, though that can be done. There is a small chance you will damage the AC lines if you pull it up and rotate it to the passenger side. I get the four 12mm bolts that hold the compressor to the bracket through the wheel well and the top two from the top.

Thanks miket223. I see now that I could have done it like you describe. Probably better too. But either way, it's gonna work. It's my first time pulling a 3vze, so I like to ask questions.
