[project] rebuild the wreckage
hopefully this is the right place for this.
i'll hopefully be getting this truck today, but if i don't, it'll be within the next couple days. i bought a 94 ext cab 4x4 truck for $100 from a friend of a friend. it was wrecked pretty good in the front, but it's still fixable. the plans as of now are to pretty much put it back together stock, with some little stuff here and there(couple inches of lift, m/t or a/t tires).
here are some pics of it still at the owners house:
so far, the main things im seeing it needs are:
hood
right fender(inner fender too)
bumper/valance
right headlight
radiator
frame pulled
floorboard beat back down
and im sure there's more
i don't know a whole lot about toyotas, but hopefully ill learn more about them with putting this truck back together.

Ditch that IFS (Independent Front Suspension) because it is already crap and go for an SAS! (Single Axle Swap) up front! Search around and you will know that is the best option.
You better check the rust spots on that truck too. Too much rust will make it worthless...

i thought about doing a SFA, but this is gonna be a "budget" build. im just gonna replace the IFS parts that are shot, and go from there. this will by no means be a pretty truck, more like a beater....haha.
the first thing im gonnna do is get it to where i can put the front wheel back on, then take it to get the frame straightened back out.
im pretty sure this is what im gonna need for the suspension:
LCA
balljoints
tierod ends
and whatever else looks bad.
i didn't really look at it to closely when i took those pics, but the tow truck is on its way over there right now, so it should be at my house within the next hour.
what would you guys suggest for a cheap couple inches of lift? i was thinking balljoint spacers, blocks, and a BL

and for the body, parts from the same bodystyle 4runner(92-95 i think), would be the same on the frontend, right?
i know the 90-91 has a slightly different front than the 92-95, and the bumper on the 92-95 will be different from the original one off the truck, but i like the newer bumper better. alot of guys with lowered/bagged yotas use that bumper.
and does that cv look like it's all out of there, or like there is still some left in the frontend? im more of a 2wd guy than a 4x4, and im completely lost when it comes to cv's.

Mount Washington, huh? I'm parting a 93 ext cab in Elizabethtown. Still have most of the front end. Let me know what you need, I'm right down the road.

It doesn't mean anything. Before you throw any money at it make sure the frame is titties. "Oh Jesus" is what I'd say to anyone who buys a wrecked vehicle. It's a lot of work to restore wrecked vehicles. I still haven't found a "cheap" way to do it.

I had to resore my '93 and I can tell you, get ready to drop some cash. I personally didnt mind it because of the fact I love my YOTA and it means more to me. Guess it depends on what you call cheap or what kind of "hook ups" you can get. JUST MY 2cents
