power steering pump leaks into exhaust

I have a 94' 4runner and it has a power steering leak. There is NO visible signs of leakage on the lines. If your just ideling and turning the wheel it's fine. But the resevoir drops very quickly when you turn the wheel while driveing. And it also drops quickly when you step on the gas. The exhaust spews smoke and it smells like power steering fluid. I was wondering is there any kind of of vacume line or a valve in a vacume line that could be leaking into the motor. I'm stumpped. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not possible as far as I'm aware. Unless you have a hole in the manifold neither power steering fluid nor brake fluid can get into the exhaust & it would have to be spraying out at that.

You learn something new everyday. I knew there was an idle up function but I was unaware it could get P/S fluid sucked into the engine.

Thanks!! I figured there had to be vacume line on it somewhere.. Due to the nature of it sucking fluid and spewing smoke when I increased the throttle..

Now Does anyone know where I can find this valve?

PS fluid leak to exhaust

I own a 2006 Mercedes SLK 350 convertible. No steering problems. No leaks on the ground. However, I smelt my own exhaust every time I drove it. So much so that I would cough. My eyes would burn and I got headaches. My clothes and hair stank!!

Took it to a mechanic associated with the dealership I purchased it from. He replaced the cabin filter. Problem not resolved.

A 2nd mechanic (not associated with the dealership) showed me that the first mechanic did not install a new cabin filter. Had new filter installed. Exhaust smell not resolved.

Ready to sell the car, I took it to a major Mercedes dealership mechanic. Found power steering fluid leaking on to the exhaust. Repaired!

Thanks for posting your concern.
