Can you leave it on? That would depend if you are changing the oil or taking off the pump.

To remove it, you need a special tool called a "pulley puller" or something. Mines bent and wobbles from my trying to get it off without such a tool.

I'm assuming you are working on a 3.0L... it helps if you tell us what you're working on when you ask for help...

If so, then yes you can remove the PS pump to do the HG without removing the pulley.

^^ Really?? I would love to know how... I tried that when I was replacing my ps pump, and couldnt get the pump out because of a bolt behind the pulley. I loosened the bolt, but couldnt get it out w/o removing the pulley.

working on a 3.0. So i got it off last night but had to remove the pump while it was still attached to the bracket. seemed alot easier than taking off the pulley and you have to take it off later in the fsm anyways. I don't see why that isn't the recommended way to do it. just took off a nut and three bolts instead of messing around with the pulley.

X2 - did the same thing not too long ago. I didn't have any issues keeping the pulley on while doing the swap - just unbolted the whole pump.
