Power Steering box issue

Well I walk out to the yota this morning, and I see power steering fluid everywhere. I though ok, I need to get another one, no biggie. After removing the air filter box, I noticed there is a bolt that has come loose. So I put it hand tight... but I also noticed that on top of the screw it has a spot for a slotted screwdriver. Seems to me that it is some type of adjustment screw???? Anyone know what this actaully does?? or how to adjust it??

Here is the bolt I am talking about..

Thanks in advace!!
Jeremy

Not 100% but I know on chev boxes it sets the pre-load on the gears. If you crank it in the steering will get tight (won't want to come back to center on its own), if its loose you will get backlash in the gears. Someone else may be able to comment further.

Yes it adjusts the free play. In other words, it adjusts how much movement you have in your steering wheel from side to side before it starts moving the tires. The screw is the adjustment and the nut locks the screw. Screw the screw in until you have the freeplay you want and lock it with the nut...regards...Rick
