Power Steering
I own a 89 Pickup. I was wondering how difficult it would be to put a new power steering pump in? I don't want to have to take it to a shop. Also it has a Sunwest 22RE in it. Thanks in advance for all the help.

drain the fluid out by whatever means you think is the least messy (goodluck)
remove the belt (untighten the 19mm nut on the idler pulley, then adjust out the 12mm bolt to loosen belt)
remove the lines from the pump then unbolt it from the bracket.
Reverse order to install. Fill system with ATF ... fire the motor up and turn the wheel back/forth repeatedly and then keep filling the resevoir till its full and all noises are gone..

not hard at all.... just remember that you can buy just the pump(rebuilt) and reuse your reservoir.... or you can buy the entire unit pump and reservoir (rebuilt)...or I think you can buy a new one but it's much more $$
