Possibly blown headgasket

Ok so i just spend 2 months rebuilding my engine after the timing chain ate threw the cover. Got my engine running and back in my truck. Everything ran fine for the last two days until my brother drove it to work and said it was running weird. I go and try to start it. It turns over and when i press the gas it starts and runs but dies when i let of the gas. Also blows white smoke seems like a head gasket i did replace the gasket and bolts when rebuilding. I wanted to see if i can retorque the head bolts to drive it home.

Thanks in advance

Prob around 20 to 30 miles. After looking at the truck i noticed one of the heater hoses was leaking so water is low. So now im thinking it over heated.
