possibly bad tps?
Recently, my toyota pickup (3.0 v6) has been idling very poor. It idles very low like it wants to die. When it is doing this, i can see the plunger on what i think is the dashpot moving back and forth? The idle will also smooth out at 1500rpm if i remove the vacuum line going to the dashpot. The last problem is when i hit the gas anymore than about 1/4 throttle, the rpms just drop like it wants to die. Anything under 1/4 throttle acts normal though. The only thing i could think of is a bad tps? Does this sound plausible? I went through some of the resistance checks on it, but the problem doesnt happen until the throttle is opened more than 1/4 throttle and i dont have access to an oscilloscope to check the full range of the sensor.
Here are some pictures of what i am talking about
This is the plunger that was moving back and forth during the terrible idle
And when i removed this vacuum line it idled smooth at 1500 rpm

you can check the resistance across the TPS using a cheap multimeter.. I used my analog multimeter yesterday to adjust my tps.. it worked great..
here is the thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...stment-197474/
It has a good link within the thread to adjust the TPS..
I does sound the TPS is possible cluprit to your problem, but I have no experience with the 3.0..
