OK, I just finished a complete rebuild on my 3VZE (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/crap-head-gasket-giving-up-ghost-108156/) and it's been running really good for almost 2,000 miles now. The only issue I'm experiencing is it seems to run out of steam above 5,000 rpms when I go full throttle like it's bogging down.

For example, when I'm in second gear & accellerate to over 5k at say 1/2 or 3/4 throttle, it pulls all the way to the redline no problem. But if I go full throttle it just bogs down like it's not getting enough air or possibly running too lean for the amount of air flowing through at that speed. In second gear at WOT it doesn't even have enough power to pull to the redline; it just sticks at @ 5500 rpm.

SO, does anyone have any ideas? I KNOW it's not a clogged cat because I knocked the innards out of it while I had the exhaust apart.

Can you rig up a volt meter to your 02 output or diagnostic port that you can read while it's driving? You should stay on the rich side at WOT.. IF you see a quick voltage change associated with the bog, you may have found your problem.

Try eliminating the CAT. It was choking mine something terrible.

Course, when the truck finally stopped running it was because the part that makes up the guts had been molten about half way down the chamber and was nothing but slag, but I'm pretty sure it's been holding me up since the rebuild (I put a new summit high flow cat in too)

I finally figured this out; I'm running at 210 psi compression (stock is 173) and the fuel setup has not been changed to accommodate the increased compression!
