Positive battery clamp snapped

Was out doing probably the easiest thing you can do, replacing my battery, and when I went to tighten the Positive clamp onto the post, it snapped in half, barely even tight, it's not like I was overtightening it or something, just started to snug up and it cracked/snapped.

Now what? How do you replace the factory battery clamp? It looks like the positive cable is crimped onto the clamp, so I assume I have to cut it and re-crimp onto a new clamp???

Anybody ever have this happen? How did you fix it? What a pain!!

Thanks.

Its not that hard to fix, you can go the cheap and easy route and buy a new battery terminal at the parts store that will allow you to cut the old battery terminal off and clamp the wires to the new battery terminal. The expensive way to fix it is to order a new battery cable from the dealer.

Yeah I was thinking about going to the dealer and getting the whole new cable, that would come with the clamp, but I'm betting that probably up around $100.

Guess I will go get the aftermarket clamp at the parts store. I assume most stores sell some version of battery clamp.

Thanks.

We have a battery place around here called Northwest battery, they will make one any length any type terminal for pennies on the $ to the dealers prices.

Try calling a few local shops made to order w/ better parts, thicker wire and cheaper.
