Sounds like it to me, may as well go with a top-end rebuild or a reman engine.

What is the temperature outside. I don't know about where you live but here in Montana it is pretty nippy in the mornings and the other morning it was about 27 degrees out and I started up my truck and the amount of white smoke that came pouring out the exaust was pretty impressive but went away in about 5-10 minutes. Wait, does my truck have a blown head gasket?

So it may be because you are not used to it being cold again and you can see smoke coming from the exaust. Just an idea.

Paranoia!!!. I can't even listen to my music anymore because I always believe I hear a new noise.

Is your vehicle running rough when you see the white smoke? Did you check for any coolant leaks? If you let it idle up to operating temperature in the morning does the white smoke go away? Is your coolant milky at all? Slight loss of power? I know there are some weird types of headgasket leaks but gotta ask to make sure. Also - has it recently gotten cold or colder in the area you live? I know on my truck in cooler temps when I start the truck in the morning it burns off a lot of condensation in the exhaust which is white smoke but it goes away as the truck gets near operating temps.

Make sure he uses the Stock OEM gasket. Make sure the heads are true - potentially get them machined if needed. Very important.
