pkb cable problem

pkb cable problem
so i have now snapped my THIRD pkb cable at the handle and kinda kicking myself in the ass for not getting it from toyota in the first place and.. whatever anyway is there something else that i would consider other than the fact that it isnt factory toyota?

It's just a steel cable. In other words, after three cables, it's probably got nothing to do with the supplier.
Do you have to exert a lot of force to pull the brake?

I just bought cable from lowes and some of those aluminum stopper things that you crimp/solder to the end and its worked for like a year. I was out like 5 bucks also. You might be able to use thicker cable also...

no not really i think it might have something to do with that right where it twists to disengage is right where it has snapped everytime. it gets right to the end where it gets tight and i go one or two clicks further and when it dosent quite hole it i go one more idk really pissing me off

Yeah. My original factory one snapped right after the stopper that holds it in the lever. I wonder why their dong that. So does the pbk basically just engage the rear brakes? Maybe you could just carry a heavy rock and put it on the brake pedal instead. Haha jk

Wow I have used Toyota stock cable replacement as well as Raybestos with no problems .
On the drum rear brake toyotas the emergency brake also adjusts the rear brakes .
Are you sure you are installing the cable correct it can be a pain . Are the brakes adjusted correct
On the 86 or so ones it is a two piece cable the back is all one then the front is all one from the lever front.
Perhaps your getting the wrong cable by chance.
