1990toy4x4x4

My 1990 toy 4x4 v6 standard transmission needs a new pitman and idler arms.

There are o many brands out there.

Replacement, pro forged, moog, AC delco, move tech, beck arnley.... These are the brands of oe parts offered online with wide range of prices...

Is there a superior brand here?
Should I stay away from certain brands?

Please help.

i've always been a fan of moog. i've had a moog idler on for about 4 years now with no problems. also have moog ball joints. good stuff.

Myself I would go with Napa Chassis Part line if I did not go with Toyota parts.

I had a moog idler arm on my '91 pickup. I liked the fact it was greaseable. You could always buy bushings and rebuild your factory idler arm. Then you could even drill in grease fittings and have yourself a greaseable factory unit.

Does a greasable unit mean it will wear before a sealed unit due to the space for the grease-does that extra space cause slop sooner if it's used hard offroad?

Greaseable could mean a slighly weaker structural integrity also. If you wheel hard, you'll be replacing idlers often until you finally upgrade to an aftermarket or strengthen yours. If you don't wheel hard, greaseable will be fine
