pic/article of ironman stewart's 4runner?

Hi all!

i know i've seen a pic of the 4runner that was raced in by ironman stewart, someone had a pic of a page taken from a magazine. i have been searching for hours online and cannot find a pic of a 4runner with that racing paint job. anyone got a link, or just know where that pic is?

thanx in advance!

I think Ivan Stewart always used trucks ... but do you mean the white/yellow/orange/red stripe paint job?

Googled Iron Stewart - first link had this picture:

We 'wheeled with a guy a few weeks back who had a factory Ivan Stewart paint job on his runner, didn't get any good pix though, here's the only one:

i could swear i've seen a pic that someone posted, cant remember where, and the comment was a reference to the use of stock suspension in the rear. i have in my mind a pic of a 4runner body with that red orange yellow stripe technique. but i've been looking up pics all day, and even ran into some of the late 80's audi quattros and the newer toyota trd colors. i've been drawing racing paint schemes on a digital image of a dozen little runners as my latest time wasting thing to do. more fun than sudoku. ha

It'd be pretty easy to carry this design over to a 4runner.

you can see your paint job in there too. i made the top a little more off-white than white, isn't that right?

here's one i started doing, and below it is a pic of i believe 4rocker's rig, which i inversed the interior to make it grey instead of tan, disappeared the sunroof, and sketched out a softop idea i was thinking about doing.

Its in the Gen1 4runner thread...

Also the yellow 4Runner - Kreg Donahoe (sp) raced it a few year back

The 4Runner was never RACED by Ivan - it was his pre-runner truck

Since its really a 2WD Ford Ranger with a 4Runner body.... nos sure how "stock" the rear suspension is

Me guess its the equivalent of a 62" Deaver rear today

sweet! that's the pic i've been looking for! thanx so much! i hate not finding things i'm looking for right under my nose.

ha, funny its not quite so exciting now i know there's ford under the skin.

so i see now it has just a plain white cap? i think i like the stripes going up and over the top better.

thanx again!

Thats a purdy red truck Cool photoshop.

Its really funny you bring up the topic of the Ivan 4runner because I saw the picture of it on here less than a month after I repainted mine all red again. I love the old school race paint job and really wish I would have painted my truck that way. Oh well, maybe next time...or next truck (I would love to see a new reg cab tacoma with that paint)

Ha and I love the caption of Ivan 'displaying his physical and mental skills' while drinking a coke and pumping gas. Cracks me up!
