Parts list for SAS on 87 Yota....
Well i think its time to start collecting parts for an SAS . I would like to get started ASAP. I would like to keep my 35's and 5.29 gears. I have bought a 85 short box that pretty rusted but the drive train is still good. (Gotta love the NY salt). So I have this truck for most of the parts. My question is ?? Is there any way that someone could help me out with a parts list of what all i will need to do this. It would deff help me out as im going to try and knock this out in a weekend if everything goes as planned. Thanks

SAS on a 87? Or lifting 85?
Either way you need a front kit and a rear kit.
Parts list is outlined in each kit.

You won't get it done in a weekend.

I want to SAS my 87. I picked up the 85 for 300 the other day . The 85 is pretty rusted , really bad frame . But she only has 62k orignal miles. I even drove it on the trailer. So what all will i use from the 85 besides the axles.?
oh and Wabbit, what kinda travel does the shocks with your front kit have?

Front axle and dshaft parts.
Maybe motor, tranny and tcase.
Other than that rear diff for spare and other miscellaneous parts.
Scrap the rest.
Search SAS threads and do some reading. You got a lot of work ahead of you.

he isn't kidding. it is a ton of work and to expect to get it done in a weekend would take a lot of skill. Most shops take longer than 2 days to get one truck done.

My 1st one took me a total of about 4 days in the snow in my back yard with no power tools except a grinder and welder.
Everyone after that has been a maximum of 2 days. I've gotten a SAS and rear lift done in a day. Its pretty straight forward if you aren't planning on saving IFS crap. And as everyone else has stated, your skills and tools.
