go BLACK!..with black fender flares...that will look real clean...then paint your grill black if its chrome....bout the only thing u have to look out for...is what paint you use...and PREPWORK!...its true...the more time you spend prepping them..the better they will turn out...use dupli-color wheel paint...caliper paint works too...but..wheel paint is for wheels...so use it...make sure you read the directions..because below about 70* the paint doesnt cure right i dont think....(if u do it in the summer...you should be fine)...thats about the only advice i have...lol...do a search on painting wheels...a good search is called WINTER PROJECT...it should come up with a guy that painted his 4-runner rims..

I use Krylon semi flat black. Clean and prep well. They hold up good.

I painted the rims on my truck, semi gloss black.

Heres my method:

- Remove rims and wash with soap as best as you can
- Rough up metal with some 350 grit
- Wash rims again with water
- wipe off rims with alcohol and a nice cloth
- Lay rims in order to be sprayed
- 3 Coats of primer ( I used black primer)
- 3 Coats of Flat Black paint (or whatever paint you are using)
- 4 Coats of clear to protect against paint damage, gives it a semi gloss look.

I have been running these rims for almost a year and so far NO paint has come off. I also let my rims sit for about 2 weeks before I put tires on them and mounted them.

I used to have a K5 blazer with flat black rims that I did myself and the paint stayed on pretty darn well. Just take off the wheel and sand up the rim really good - a wire brush cup for a drill works great, so does sandpaper. I didn't even take off the tires, but just masked them off and primed them with BIN I think. That stuff will stick to anything. I then just used flat black Rustoleum. Turned out great for a quick fix. Whenever I scratched them or the paint on the vehicle, I always had a can of paint sitting in my toolbox to slap a coat on it really quick. But if you want things more permanent, powdercoating is the way to go.

alright, well today i spent 60$ on paint for my rims, 2 cans primer, 2 cans color, 2 cans clear, which im not sure will be enough of any, so might have to buy more, i went with a charcoal gray finally, i think it will look good, i sent my rims to be sand blasted to have them perfectly clean, cost 100$ to have them all done, i will post pics when i start the process.

After they get sandblasted don't touch them with your bare hands, the oil from your skin gets on it and the primer won't stick as well. i learned that the hard way >.> just warning you.
