ya, I would also go for the flat black. Makes it easy, and looks cool.

i dotn know how your considering paintig nit but i woudl highly recomend the roll on rustoleum method you coudl read up on. It really turns out nice if you put some tiem into it i am workign on some test peices and am gonna roll my whoel runner when nice weather comes. But ya i tihnk semi glose black would look great not flat but not gloss. Kind of in btween your wheels and top.

dont even worry abotu the decals. Since your goign to paint the area anyway just sand them off or use acetone or sometihgn like that if all thats left is the sticky stuff.

im thinking about flat black on mine as well. my hood has oxidation all over it -- but nowhere else on the truck. i bought it like that and i'm not sure how the last owner managed to make almost a square pattern of oxidation on only the hood. my truck is blue though, not gray
