P/S Pump Leaking From High Pressure Fitting
So my PS pump is leaking on my 88 4runner. More like gushing out like crazy. It is leaking from the high pressure fitting. The high pressure line has a threaded fitting that screws into the larger threaded fitting on the side of the pump. I opened it up and there is no o ring, is there supposed to be? I tried to use silicone tape but that failed. I am just wondering if I need a new hose bbecause I do not see how to get a new fitting on there.

If it's just leaking at the (missing?) crush washers, replace them. They're a dealer-only item, but they're cheaper than dirt. http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/...driveLine=6708 If it's leaking in the flexible part of the hose, you need a replacement hose. The factory hose is about $180 or more (ow!). You could consider taking it to a hydraulic hose place; for less than $50 or so they'll saw off the metal fittings and put them into compression fittings on a new hose.

At first it was leaking throught the threads at the big arrow so I used silicone tape and then it started gushing from the little arrow. I removed the male fitting and put an O ring into the female fitting and then put the male fitting back into place. It is better than before but I get about 2 drops per second from the little arrow. Show I just replaced the fitting?

Any chance you've got an "after-market" repaired hose?
