Overview of my Truck, and the future

So I figured I'd throw this out there just for anyone looking to walk the same path I'm on.

I bought the truck 6 months ago for $3000 (I know I got ripped off). Its a 1995 Ext cab DLX shortbed Pickup with a 3.0v6 and r150 5-speed. Obviously its got IFS and an 8in rear. So I started out with little stuff like body lift then decided I would get serious and do a SAS and 36's. I have nearly everything to get going with the SAS now and am just waiting for my new workshop to be done to start.

Current Money Spent + Near future
----------------------------------
SAS:
$1100 - Trail Gear SAS kit
$200 - Sky Manufacturing Hub Spacers
$100 - IFS wheel hubs
$300 - Solid front axle
$100 - Master install kit for thirdmember
$120 - 4.56 ring and pinion
$50 - Detroit Locker (used)
$550 - 5 Brand new 16.5 rockcrawler wheels
$350 - 4 Brand new Goodyear 36x12.5 r16 Military OZ's
$100 - Misc gussets and armor

Rear Diff:
$200 - EZ locker
$150 - Yukon ring and pinion
$150 - Master install kit

Other:
$150 - 2" bodylift
$250 - Custom Flatbed

If my basic math serves me correct thats $3800 spent so far on the truck. I have plans to do alot more.

Future:
$150 Rock sliders
$300-400 Exo cage
$1500 2x Air Lockers
$200 Air-locker setup
$500 Re-gear to 4.88's
$2000 full 22re swap retaining v6 driveline.

Yummy... Give me til I'm out of highschool to have everything done but the airlockers. That gives me 1 year and 2months. God I must really love wheeling.

If you can find a locker for 50 pass it on. tires go cheap on craigslist all the time. Otherwise you are gonna want a crawler box or duals... DO it right the first time airlockers and 5.29s or 4.88s dont do it twice that is wasted money.

I picked up my 95 4runner for 7. I got ripped.

Sounds like a nice plan, but change your sig. Just because you want it, doesn't mean you have it. Guess I should add a bunch more to my sig too huh?

OH SNAP. lol. my sig would be the sickest siggy ever, no doubt. shoot, id probally have about 8 different cars on there actually, and every one of them would be heavily modified. except the geo. only modifications for that would be a roll bar and some heavy duty protection. id be WRECKIN that one. can u say, DESTRUTION DURBY?

.
add 150 for compressor to run air lockers.

You must also have a super swell shop that will do each pumpkin for 100 bucks...

Also, if you are going to swap a motor, why the 22re? They are fine if thats what you start with, but I have no idea why one would spend the money to swap it in? The 3.4 has the same reliablity, and over twice the HP.

Swap a toyota 3.4 or a chev 4.3! Both reliable engines, WAY more power then a 22re.

but that being said, good job, we need pictures!

I have a friend that builds the pumpkins for me real cheap. As far as gearing an air lockers now goes I just dont have the money right now and I want to get the truck up and running and ready to wheel.

BTW the reasoning behind the motor is that I need to save some money somewhere...

Why not just keep the 3.0? You don't want the chain driven T-case anyway. Doesn't make sense to me to lower the HP of your motor and keep the driveline parts that can't be altered for lower gears in the future.

I'd leave the 3.0 for now (maybe swap 3.4 later) and spend your 22RE swap money on the gear driven transfer case adapter and 4.7 gear.

It would be better to re-gear once to 5.29's as others have said. I know it's a big chunk of money, but you don't want to keep spending on gears and install kits down the line.

Why do you need the IFS wheel hubs and Sky spacers? The TG full SAS kit should come with spacers and allow you to use the parts from your Toyota straight axle... thus saving you $300 right of the bat,

Are you cutting and welding on all the SAS hangers and such on your own? If not, don't forget to calculate the labor for that.
