overheating after valve cover job??? HELP!!!

hey all...

just got home frome my gf's dads shop where i did my valve cover gaskets...

good news is i dont smell burnt oil..

but bad news is that everything was steaming...

i took the oil cap off and there was steam comming out..
and also steam comming out of the top of the rad...

their was a water drip before i left the shop so i poped the hood and released the pressure at the cap of the rad. so that i could get home...

the drip must be a loose clamp somewhere...?

but the only reason i can see the oil from steaming would be from the new hose i put on the pcv being kinked... that sound right?

a couple mixed up vacuum lines wouldent do this right?

every once in a while i would hear water sizzling, but i couldent figure out where it was comming from...

ill post up my pics and info in my other thread..

thanks for any help.

That doesn't sound good. Only one thing comes to mind that would cause that, blown HG.

have you changed your oil after completing the HG job? maybe it is just boiling off residual coolant?

what I did was add 5 qts when I was finished and immediately drained it before starting it the first time, i wanted the least amount of coolant in the oil passage ways as possible.

check the dipstick for coolant, make sure your coolant levels are good and let it run for 15-20 minutes or so and see what happens.

He said valve cover gaskets, that shouldn't get coolant in the oil would it?
