Question Opening up the rear tailgate/window on a 95

Is there another way to open up the tailgate, other than rolling down the window? Is there a way to roll down the window from the inside? I keep having to use the key on the outside to roll the window down, and then pull up on the handle to drop the gate.

Gotta be some kinda trick

Should be a switch in the floor console near the shifter.

There is a switch mounted right behind the shifter to roll down the window; they are usually gunked up from spilled drinks. Mine was gunked up so bad it wouldn't work so I took it out & took it apart & cleaned it, works like a charm now.

And unless you subvert the safeties you have to roll down the window to open the tail gate & the window won't come down if the rear wiper isn't in the fully up position. I wouldn't want it to open without the glass being down, you'll just end up breaking it out.

Ditto, ditto....

I bypassed everything on my '86 (due to a failed relay board and console switch) with two new switches. One mounted to the dash above the stereo and one at the tailgate. It's all hooked directly to battery power. I like it because now I can service the window and tracks a lot easier. The window will move up and down with the gait down. I just have to be careful. One adapts.

there is no other way to open the gate, than to have the window down all the way. There is a safety switch in the dinwo regulator that will not allow the gate to open until the window is all the way down.

You could remove the latch cables from the regulator assy and open the gate that way, but even then the window has to be down a ways, and you would have exposed cables and an open gate.
