Only firing 3 cylinders?????
Ok so i have been having issues with my 88 pickup 22re for like the past 3 weeks and its making me soooo angry ive put so much money into it im wondering if its even worth it. it was sputting and hesitating when i would accelerate. so i replaced the plugs wires, distributor cap and the fuel presser regulator. that didnt fix the problem so i replaced the fuel filter and that fixed it. well yesterday i got it up for the first time over 45 since i changed the filter and then all the suddon it started sounding really bad. like a lawnmower starting up when i would press the gas. i new this wasent right. well it wasent missing just having like a lack of power untill i would get further in rpms. i figured out the #3 cylinder was not fireing at all. it has spark to the wires and plugs but nothing. i dont know what to do im not very good with working on these things and ive already put so much money into this past week that im pretty mad lol any suggestions on what to do??

It may be worth taking a look at the fuel filter again. Have you done a compression test? It goes pretty quick on a four cylinder. What about the spark plugs? The missfireing on acceleration could be fuel delivery or ignition.

clogged injector... dirty fuel system... Has it sat for any period of time. Metal tanks on these things are notorious for rusting and then the rust powder clogs the injectors.
Check your fuel filter again if its orange and rusty looking pull your injectors and inspect /clean them and jumper your fuel pump to run some gas out in a cup and see what was waiting to go in the injectors.
If it is rusty you'll need to drop the tank blow out all the lines and clean the tank hard and put some rust sealer in it.
