Okay guy's I've been in south Texas for about a week now I'm ready to get this truck running. 1988 toyota 4x4 3.0. Complete rebuild all back together and as in the tread from a few weeks ago just want run will crank up but goes dead. Have checked the afm,new tps, plug wires plugs getting code 51. Before I go spend enough to by 3 tanks of gas for a new ecu am I missing something.
Thanks

code 51 is switch signal- A/C switch is ON, Neutral safety is OFF (meaning clutch is engaged), TPS IDL signal is OFF (meaning the TPS switch is not registering IDL / throttle closed position to ECU) when Diagnostic Port is jumpered.
you've eliminated the a/c and safety switch as possible causes for the CEL code?
you've checked and adjusted the TPS? Checked the TPS wiring back to the ECU? if so... and the TPS is good and adjusted and the wiring is fine, the ECU is probably the fault.
