Just ordered my new ome steering stabilizer/damner. What kind of results should i expect from this product? I've herd from some that it will cure much of the feedback through the steering wheel? What do you guys think? tim.

I'd say it should. I put a pro comp on my 87 4Runner and it was way better than the stock one. Maybe because of the size or the fact that teh old on was 20 years old

I just installed the OME and it is awesome. The steering feels "solid".

I have one on mine, and it is great - the steering wheel has 0 feedback and as stated above feels "solid"

i didnt align mine after and it seems ok,,.... doesnt drift or anything... pretty sure its fine. one thing is make sure it came with bolt or go get one cause the stock stabilizer has a little ball joint bolt that is attached

i just put on a procomp es2000 stabalizer and it made a hugr difference

I didnt have an alignment done but I suppose it depends on whether or not your truck is aligned to begin with

well i have some other things im gonna replace while im in there. i read on another thread i'll need a "pickle puller" or a hammer thingamabob... what is that? please post a pic so i'll know what im looking for. i might have one lying around the shop, just dont know what it looks like.

you need a front end puller kit from the local tool rental to pop the ball joints on the steering system - the pickle puller is a pickle fork - basically its a 20" rod with a two tined fork on the end, the tines are angled so as you hammer it in to release the ball joint, the fork will continue to push - not a hard concept, but the pullers work better in my opinion.

I only use a Pickle Fork if im replacing the part.. if your not replacing the part (just need it apart to do what you want to do) then dont use a pickle fork it can ruin stuff. Use a front end pulling tool for things like tie rod ends that u dont want to replace

I had one on my '93 for almost about 1.5 years but sadly, i never even knew it was an Old Man Emu. The original owner had just installed it but for some reason i always thought it was a Monroe.

Knowing now, i realize why my steering felt soooo nice, even with 33's. It's definitely a beefy stabilizer.
