Oil Pump alignment on crank shaft

Oil Pump alignment on crank shaft
Working on my first rebuild of a 3VZE. I purchased a long block and it included among other things a new oil pump. I proceded to install the oil pump and it appeared to engage with the crank shaft (I did prime the pump with petroleum jelly to reduce the chance of a dry start). I bolted it up and all seemed to be fine. I then read the instructions on the FSM and it said to align the pump with the crank shaft. If the pump was not aligned properly I assume that when I bolted it down to the block, something would not be right.
Is there only one (or two if you consider 180 degrees the other way) way that the pump can go on the shaft? I'm at the point in the rebuild that if I need to take it off and inspect the pump I can. I'd hate to get the engine back in and have the oil pump not function.
Thanks

Sorry about the big pic. But it definitely shows the crankshaft "teeth" the FSM is refering to a lot better than it does.
