Oil leak not at valve cover, worse
My earlier post is incorrect my oil leak is at the bottom bolt where the egr valve bolts to the head. I took off the egr valve and fresh oil is leaking out of the bottom bolt, Do they make a gasket for it or just make my own with gasket material and use high temp rtv. Any suggestions are helpful thanks

I looked up the gasket on a toyota parts web site and not sold by itself it's part of the intake against head gasket on the end, on the felpro gasket it's the same way but on the felpro it's perferated so it can be taken off if I would assume your replacing just the intake and not the egr and or vise versa, now the oem gasket on web site is $8.30 that's usually around the dealer price. For the price I would go with the oem one and when you re-install the EGR be sure to use thread sealant on the bolts that go into the valve train are area, I'm going to finish my engine today and I'm not going to use sealant on the intake and egr because not dealing with oil or coolant just air and gases...Good luck and have fun...

Hey thanks for the reply, yea I made my own gasket and used red rtvas well. I guess I will know in a day or 2 if it leaks. Is it common for the bolts to leak oil? Anyway thanks man.

Like the front timing cover with a bolt going into an oil area, you have to put sealant on it or the oil will work it's way out and cause a leak, so your better off just to do that to any bolt going into an oil area, just better to add some thread sealant, but it's your call...

I've never added anything to that portion of the intake gasket....Neither to the bolts. Never had a drop leak out of there. Yes, it can become oily mess in there, .... but mainly due to "Emission Gas Recirculation"..... Dripping oil? Hmmmm, maybe I'm missing something, I'd have to search around a bit...... Could it be a crack in the head? Or is it more likely just blow back, guys?

I've never put any type of sealant on those bolts either. Those bolts are milled into the head, but not through it. I bet you have some blow by overwhelming the EGR system. I would get a leakdown test done to see how your rings are.
Oh, be sure and chase those EGR bolt holes before to get all the gunk out, then you'll see how deep the holes are.

Just one of them goes all the way through to the head and requires just a little bit of sealant. I had trouble with my intake gasket and got tired of pulling my EGR to replace it as well, so i just sliced the gasket since they are separate.
I believe when you're leaning over the passenger fender, it's the top right bolt of the EGR that goes all the way through the head and requires just a touch of sealant.

Yep sctoy that's the one I mentioned earlier :} the upper right one and it goes into valve train area, the other 2 are on the outside the valve train area and got there own bump outs/dead end threaded area, I'm going to put thread sealant on that bolt.
