oil leak@drums
I have axle oil in my drum brakes 87 4runner .can I just pull the axle and replace the inner seal? or does the outer need to be done? i'm still searching just looking for a quick answer

Pull the axle and find out the condition of your inner and outer seals.
Chances are, both are bad.
You'll probably need new pads too.

replaced the inner today i belive the outer is only for dirt and watter. it a sealed bearing so it doesn't need the gear oil for lube. I'll see how it does

I have heard that you can bake the grease off them in the oven, never tried it myself.

Yes, I have heard that you put the shoes in the oven and bake the grease off, I am not sure if it works or the temp, just heard that it works.

looks like the inner seal stoped the leak. It was a ez fix

That might work, but gear oil smells horrible.. your better half would never forgive you..
