I'm having a similar issue. 1992 22re. It has sweated oil for a long time, but never actually dripped until I recently took it on a 220 mile (each way) road trip. When I got to my destination, I noticed a significant oil slick underneath and my oil level was quite low. On the way back I had to add about 1.5 quarts. Driving around town, it only seems to leak when I have been going uphill. I have replaced the PCV valve hoping it might just be clogged, but it didn't seem to any difference.

The font seal is right behind the pulley on the crank shaft. After years of spinning around it wears a grove in the pulley. Here is a pick of mine from a few different oil seals.
Hear is where the seal is located, It's part of the oil pump housing.
Right now the truck has a leaking thin seal.
So what i did was buy this Harmonic balancer repair sleeve to put over shaft and make it all good again. and a new oil seal.

You can just buy any of the parts. And lots of places seal the sleeve if needed. Oriliy is good for 22re parts. I got a new oil pump, with ring gasket, and the oil seal on amazon but they run about 40 bucks for every thing. and its 5 bolts i think. Its a pretty easy job to do.
